The World’s Top 5 ‘Unconventional’ Meeting Spots – and Where to Find Them

The Goldmans have attended their fair share of industry meetings at hot spots across the globe. The team share their top five picks for meetings, conferences and events that will be remembered for all the right reasons…

CityCube, Berlin

A colossal congress and exhibition ‘arena’ over three levels, CityCube is home to 50 spaces and a proudly pillar-free convention hall for up to 5000 people, with flexible wall systems making the spaces truly multifunctional. Boasting on-site catering that’s delicious, AV and video conferencing technology and transport links required to host major events, CityCube attendees will benefit from the buzz of modern-day Berlin – and that can only be a good thing.

Vatican Private Gardens, Rome

About as different from CityCube as you can get, the hushed, landscaped gardens of the Vatican are exclusive, tranquil and home to an incredible view of St Peter’s Basilica. Take a walking tour and explore the gardens, its fountains and several sacred sites as you gain a rare insight into the behind-the-scenes world of Vatican City.

Altitude, London

The ultimate urban destination for corporate and private events, Altitude is home to views that go for miles, such as Skyloft, a warehouse space in the sky. Venues and meeting rooms can accommodate up to 650 people and there are smaller meeting spaces filled with brightly coloured bean bags for breakout brainstorming.

Jackalope, Mornington Peninsula

David Goldman’s favourite spot of 2018 is also a fail-safe pick for modern meetings. With its gourmet food, fine wines, stylish interiors and proximity to countless golf courses, wineries and beaches, meetings will be memorable at The Jackalope.

The St Regis, Abu Dhabi

Merging St Regis tradition with authentic Arabic hospitality, this is the meeting spot for those who prefer the finer things in life. Located near many of the city’s embassies and major multinational companies, the St Regis boasts a private beach and magnificent views – especially from the meeting spaces which are suspended between two high-rise buildings. Unconventional and unforgettable.
