Mandarin Oriental to Open First Hotel in South Korea

Luxury travellers have something new to look forward to in Asia. Mandarin Oriental has announced plans to open its first property in South Korea, a 128-room boutique hotel in the heart of Seoul’s central business district, set to welcome guests from 2030.

Designed with the feel of an intimate private club, Mandarin Oriental, Seoul will combine understated elegance with a strong sense of place. Dining will be a highlight: a destination restaurant on the 21st floor with panoramic city views, plus three additional restaurants including a contemporary international venue, an elevated Chinese option, and a theatrical Korean Chef’s Counter. Guests can also relax in the bar and lounge or indulge at the renowned Mandarin Cake Shop.

Wellness takes centre stage across four dedicated spa levels, with treatments ranging from traditional healing to innovative “future bathing.” Facilities will include a 25-metre pool, fitness centre, private outdoor terrace, golf academy with simulators, and spaces for families such as a multiball court, games room and kids’ club.

This debut follows Mandarin Oriental’s recent announcements in Xi’an and Dubai, furthering the brand’s thoughtful expansion in Asia and the Middle East. For Goldman Travel clients, it signals another exciting luxury option in a city known for its vibrant culture, business energy and world-class dining.
