The airline’s return to international routes since the pandemic.
For the first time since their departure from the international airspace due to the pandemic border closures, Virgin Australia will be launching their first flights to Doha this June. Flights will initially take off from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to the Qatari capital with seamless connections across the UK, Europe and South Africa. Melbourne-Doha flights will commence 1 December this year.
These new Virgin Australia flights will provide additional choice for travellers against Qatar Airways’ current schedule, bringing double daily flights to the Sydney-, Brisbane-and Perth-Doha routes.
These flights will be operated in conjunction with Qatar Airways, Virgin’s recently announced partner, who will provide the Boeing 777 jets (featuring the private Qsuites in Business Class), the pilots and crew, in-flight dining and entertainment. Anyone who has flown Qatar will know this adds up to a first-rate flight experience.
Ahead of the Virgin Australia flights to Doha, Business Class passengers and Velocity Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus frequent flyers will be able to access selected partner lounges. These are Air New Zealand lounges in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth terminals and the Marhaba Lounge in Melbourne.
In Doha, business class travellers can visit one of two Al Mourjan Business Lounges and Velocity members mentioned can relax in one of the three Qatar Airways lounges in the airport. In addition, all Virgin Frequent Flyers will receive a complimentary US$20 voucher to use at over 60 cafes and restaurants in Doha’s International Airport.
