Singapore Airlines has announced a complete rebuild of its SilverKris Lounge at Melbourne Airport, to be opened in late 2026 or early 2027. It marks a significant step forward for the carrier’s ground experience Down Under, especially as it’s a favourite airline for Australian passengers.
The new lounge will move from its current lower-level location into a larger, light-filled upper-floor space within Terminal 2. The lounge will also increase current capacity by around 30%, easing peak time crowding across the airline’s five daily departures.
Drawing inspiration from the newest SilverKris lounges in Perth, London Heathrow and Changi Terminal 2, the Melbourne lounge will showcase the airline’s refined ‘Home Away From Home’ design philosophy. Travellers can expect thoughtful zoning for dining, working and relaxation, along with a tended bar, a live cooking station and Singapore Airlines’ signature semi-private productivity pods. Practical enhancements such as plentiful AC and USB charging throughout will bring the lounge in line with the expectations of modern premium travellers.
The revitalised SilverKris Lounge will continue to welcome eligible First and Business Class guests travelling on Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance partner airlines as well as top-tier frequent flyers.
The timing aligns with a landmark period for the airline, with 2026 seeing the debut of Singapore Airlines’ next-generation A350 business class suites, followed by new first class suites for the ultra-long-range A350ULR – a glimpse of an exciting new chapter for the carrier both in the air and on the ground.
